Taking on Allen in July
Chikadze will face Arnold Allen in a featherweight bout at UFC 304 in Manchester, England on July 27, per Nolan King of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Chikadze will head into the fight coming off a decision victory over Alex Caceres in August, hoping to keep that positive momentum going, though it remains to be seen whether "Ninja" is at 100 percent following a groin tear in December. The six-foot Georgian will also be faced with the tough task of fighting Allen in his home country of England, though a notable size and reach advantage will help Chikadze against the smaller Englishman.

Discloses groin injury
Chikadze announced Monday via social media that a left groin tear led to his withdrawal from his scheduled UFC 296 fight against Josh Emmett on Dec. 16 in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Chikadze was forced to withdraw from the event less than two weeks before the scheduled fight, leaving Emmett searching for a new opponent. It's a tough break for Chikadze, who was set to enter as approximately a (-190) betting favorite against an opponent a few spots higher in the promotion's featherweight rankings.

Out of UFC 296
Chikadze will no longer take on Josh Emmett at UFC 296 due to an undisclosed injury, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chikadze's official injury is unknown, but it is severe enough to keep him from taking on Emmett. It is unclear if the latter will get a new opponent for the featherweight bout. Chikadze will now focus on getting his health up to par.

Emmett fight next
Chikadze will compete against Josh Emmett in a featherweight fight at UFC 296 in Paradise on Dec. 16, according to Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca.
ANALYSIS
Chikadze will have the opportunity to boost his ranking to top six in the UFC's featherweight division by defeating No. 6 Emmett. Chikadze's 2023 began uninspiringly, as he called out for a fight against former champion Max Holloway before sitting out more than half the year and getting Alex Caceres instead. However, Chikadze defeated Caceres and could go 2-0 in 2023 with a win over Emmett.

Wins in return from long layoff
Chikadze defeated Alex Caceres via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
ANALYSIS
Fighting for the first time in more than a year and a half, Chikadze looked good, not great, in his return to the Octagon. He was the better fighter, especially over the final ten minutes, but the striking numbers were eerily similar in a bout contested entirely on the feet. Giga closed with a 65-62 edge in total strikes landed. He connected on two more strikes than Caceres in Rounds 1 and 3, while his opponent had the edge by one in Round 2. Chikadze won seven in a row to begin his UFC run prior to his unanimous decision loss to Calvin Kattar in his latest bout, so it was nice to see him get back in the win column here.
